PRR 2400, AF-24, 1963
Tipton. Here is an original phnto that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 4 August 1963. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2400 and #2238. #2400 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in September of 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #2238 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in May of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They're at the Crawford Avenue grade crossing with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way from Enola to Altoona.
